The Sky’s the Limit with an Online Degree
There are many levels of glass ceiling in the employment market. Race, gender,
age, and social background all have a part to play in how far up the ladder
you can climb. The barriers start to melt away, however, the higher the level
of education you attain. The same glass ceilings have, of course, traditionally
existed in acquiring an education. This is no longer true. The accessibility
of online learning means that those barriers are melting away. Anyone with
access to the Internet can now earn a degree and enhance their career and earning
prospects.
There are many accredited universities in the U.S. that offer online learning
packages designed specifically to meet the needs of career-minded individuals
who want to remain employed and earning while they study. University
of Phoenix Online and DeVry
University Online are good examples. Both offer online programs for which the key elements are
accessibility, flexibility, and relevance.
Accessibility
The criteria for enrolment onto an online program vary between schools, but
financial standing need not be among them. University
of Phoenix Online,
for example, is regionally accredited and employers will often support the
initiative of ambitious employees by assisting with the cost of tuition.
Most universities will have online information to help you to determine whether
you are eligible for financial aid and provide links to advisors with whom
you can discuss your needs.
Military personnel can access funding via several sources. You may also be
able
to convert your training and experience into degree credits. Not only will
you have fewer classes to attend and pay for, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that your hard work within the military will still count for something if you chose to pursue a new path.
Flexibility
Online degree programs allow you to study whenever and wherever you want.
As long as you’ve got Internet access, you can study for your degree. You might work irregular hours, or have family commitments that prevent you from attending on-campus classes. Flexibility is the cornerstone of online learning and University
of Phoenix Online is one of the most flexible. Courses can be taken one
at a time, consecutively, for optimal learning.
Relevance
DeVry University and
University of Phoenix
Online offer Associate,
Bachelor’s, Master’s,
and Doctoral degrees in various business and technology-related subjects as well
as fast-growing industries such as health and education. Programs are specifically
designed for online learning and are compiled and updated in consultation with
professionals in the industry to ensure that students gain the knowledge and
skills that are in-demand. Personal development is important but students also
need assurance that their degree will serve them well in the workplace.
Passport to Success
A relevant degree from a respected university can revolutionize career prospects
for working managers. Online degree programs designed specifically
for working adults is revolutionizing attitudes to continued education. Over
half of all
online students are over 30 as people increasingly recognize that
there is never a wrong time to return to education. University
of Phoenix Online is chosen by more working professionals than any other online institution,
but Devry University and
other schools have
high quality programs to offer, too.
If you are ambitious but do not hold a formal degree, it is time
to
make the decision to rejuvenate your career prospects with an online
degree
